Deniliquin is one of the most picturesque among the famous courses that stretch along the mighty Murray River and its tributaries. We invite you to enjoy the beauty of our course, just like the kangaroos, kookaburras, Superb Parrots, echidna, goannas, lizards, pelicans and a host of other wildlife that abounds in this paradise of nature

Deniliquin Golf Club, on the edge of the Murray Valley Region Park, yet just a stone’s throw from the shopping centre, boasts one of our nation’s most natural and beautiful golf settings.  With 18 carefully manicured fairways meandering around the waterways and forests, it is a mecca for native birds and animals.

Pop into the Pro Shop or give us a call on (03) 5881 3333 … usually we offer ‘same day play’ without lengthy delays or booking weeks in advance.

The club also holds many tournaments throughout the year which are open to members and visitors.

The Ladies Championship final round did not disappoint.

In the Open Division not more than a few shots separated the top 3 golfers for most of the day. With 9 holes to play Vicki Brunker had taken a 1 stroke lead from Prue Lloyd playing the round of the day. Pauline Davis was only 1 stroke further back.

It would be a question of who could play best golf or minimise the mistakes on the run home.

That was Vicki Brunker, who with back 9 41, took out the Championship by a margin of just 2 strokes with rounds of 80-86-85 total 251. Prue Lloyd finished second with 87-84-82 total 253. Pauline Davis finished third with a 3 round total of 256.

In B-grade a 3 way playoff was required to determine the winner, after Kathy Simpson, Marg Menadue and Sarah Aitken all finished on a 3 round total of 300.

It was Sarah Aitken, who overcame a 10 shot deficit in the final round with an excellent score of 94 off the stick, that continued her superb form to claim the championship.

In C-grade Wendy Liefting led from start to finish to take the championship win with a total of 336. Wendy has only been playing golf for a small number years, so it is exciting to see a relatively new golfer doing well.

Runner up in C-grade was Bev Purtill on 344, with Pam Larcombe 3rd on 347.

Congratulations to all the winners, the ladies no doubt enjoyed the celebrations into the evening.
